What is the best way to store Christmas ornaments? ›

For ornaments that come with original packaging that can be reused for storing we recommend that you organize those into well labeled clear plastic or cardboard containers. We find that clear see-through containers are great choices because it gives you the benefit of seeing the contents without opening.

If you keep the breakable ornaments in smaller boxes, they are less likely to break while in storage. These smaller boxes can then be placed inside your larger Christmas storage boxes. What is this? The trick is to pack the ornaments tightly in the box so there isn't room for the ornaments to move around and break.

All you need is a hot glue gun, cardboard, a box, and plastic drink cups. Cut the cardboard into pieces that will fit inside the storage box. Glue the bottom of the cups to the cardboard and let dry. Place one of the cardboard pieces with cups in the box and fill with ornaments.

A fun and eco-friendly way to store small glass ornaments is to repurpose an empty egg carton. All you have to do is place one ornament in each egg slot. Then when all the ornaments are put away, the egg cartons can be stacked together and put in a box for neat and compact storage.
