More than you think you need..I was in a hardware shop today and they said 4-600 for a 6ft tree.
I was going to buy some new ones butpinching the ones from outside (39ft) for the tree.
A few years ago ours went just before Christmas...OH ran off to the shop and bought back a set that were quite short (only ones left). He ended up going back again then again and bought two more sets.
Cue the last couple of years him fighting a loosing battle to try and co-ordinate the sequence on the lights
