What do you call a female Jaguar? A Jaguar. (2024)

It’s not exactly new news that the automotive space is still a very male dominated space.

When it comes to Car advertising,42% of Australian women believe car advertisers don’t understand them.

Marketing to women should be a big focus considering that they drive 80% of all purchase decisions. You may say that Brand and Customer Experience geared towards women are just as important as communications and you’re right on the money. There is no point throwing advertising dollars at an audience that you then loose when it comes to actual interactions with the brand.

As Jaguars JV agency we don’t just necessarily just look at advertising and communications, we are heavily focused on our client’s CX both online and in real life.

We decided that we needed to look at the available data around our Jaguar brand experiences and we realised that female Jaguar owners/prospects are noticeably under-represented at Jaguar brand experiences such as drive days.

Having worked with luxury car brands for quite some time, I have had the benefit of experiencing a variety of automotive brand experiences first-hand, and I'm not gonna lie.

I'm not someone to be intimidated easily by performance driving (as a German I have spent a fair amount of time on the Autobahn) but even I feel a bit nervous about racecourse driving. I all of a sudden start to doubt my abilities, whilst the male attendees seem to morph into Hamilton-esk pros boasting about their record laps and having a jolly good time.

In order for women to partake in experiences that involve car racing and experience luxury performance cars on their terms, we needed to change the format of the experience from intimidating to empowering.

We worked with our clients, in particular the women in Jaguar’s marketing and experience team to change the format into an inclusive and engaging experience: From female brand ambassadors to female race drivers/instructors to the F&B/styling and messaging. The Jaguar & Spark44 team turned it all upside down.

Ourtrial eventwas booked out within 48 hours, which is a record for any of the Jaguar experience to date and achieved a NPS of 10.

We’re incredibly happy that Jaguar Australia have decided to make the JWTD (Jaguar Women’s Track Day) a permanent addition, with a second date that just announced.

We’re very pleased for everyone of our colleagues and clients that worked on this.

Hereare the highlights of the day. Can't wait for the next one.
