Platinum is the new Gold. With the beginning of Season 18 of Ranked Duels (for the month of June), the rank of Master has been introduced above the Diamond Rank. Additionally, the following changes have been introduced: -You are no longer demoted for losing matches in Gold Rank (like in the Rookie and Silver Ranks).

Nope, you can't derank in Master 1, thankfully. Yeah, you can't derank if you already reached the current highest rank of the season (month), which is Master 1 (well, until we eventually get a new higher rank), the only time you will get deranked after reaching the highest rank is after the end of the season (month).

Diamond goes right above Platinum, and has 5 tiers, just like the other ranks in the game. Reaching Diamond 5 will grant you 200 Gems, and reaching Diamond 4 through 1 will net you 100 Gems each. Once players reach Diamond 1, they'll no longer be able to be demoted, a fact that should no longer apply to Platinum 1.
Can you derank from platinum to Gold Master Duel? ›
Let's start with what has changed. Before, if you ended the season in Gold or Silver, you'd be demoted to Silver I and Bronze I (the highest Tier for each rank) respectively. Now, you'll get demoted to Silver V and Bronze V (the lowest Tiers) respectively. You also can't be demoted from Platinum V to Gold I anymore.

What is the 10k gem limit in Master Duel? ›
Master Duel, used to purchase resources such as card packs and Structure Decks. Players can hold up to 10,000 free gems, after which any further gems are sent to their mailbox which expire in 30 days.
You get rewards even when you lose so long as you do not surrender. The game even tells you this when explaining missions and event missions. If you surrender, nothing you did will count, but if you perform 3 special summons, that will count towards special summon missions, even if that game was a loss.

A card has a 9% chance of being upgraded to a Glossy Finish, and a 1% chance for a Royal Finish. Normal and Rare cards don't have Royal Finish, so they'd be upgraded to a Glossy if that were to happen.
