Platinum is the new Gold. With the beginning of Season 18 of Ranked Duels (for the month of June), the rank of Master has been introduced above the Diamond Rank. Additionally, the following changes have been introduced: -You are no longer demoted for losing matches in Gold Rank (like in the Rookie and Silver Ranks).

June 2023: Master Rank added. Players no longer de-rank within Gold. Diamond now only requires 4 net wins to rank-up. February 2023: Gem rewards for ascending Tiers within the two highest ranks increased.

In Master Rank you need to win five duels in a row to rank up.

Nope, you can't derank in Master 1, thankfully. Yeah, you can't derank if you already reached the current highest rank of the season (month), which is Master 1 (well, until we eventually get a new higher rank), the only time you will get deranked after reaching the highest rank is after the end of the season (month).

What is this? Getting to the highest Rank during the season--Master 1--rewards the player by making them immune from demotions until the end of the season. Currently, there are no end of season Ranked Rewards for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.

Master Duel is still the most played card game on Steam, by around 3-4 times the playercount of the 2nd most played. Then, people need to understand that Yu-Gi-Oh isn't for everyone, it's not an easy game like CrapStone, and if you suck, you don't get to play.

Diamond goes right above Platinum, and has 5 tiers, just like the other ranks in the game. Reaching Diamond 5 will grant you 200 Gems, and reaching Diamond 4 through 1 will net you 100 Gems each. You get rewards even when you lose so long as you do not surrender. The game even tells you this when explaining missions and event missions. If you surrender, nothing you did will count, but if you perform 3 special summons, that will count towards special summon missions, even if that game was a loss.

At this point, diamonds and performance points are removed and only your skill rating is tracked for the remainder of the season. You cannot lose Master rank once you have achieved it.
