Zelda Breath of the Wild guide: How to find and reforge the Lightscale Trident (2024)

There’s no trick to finding the Lightscale Trident — one of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s “unbreakable” weapons. You just have to defeat a Divine Beast first. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Lightscale Trident and what you need to do to reforge it — including an easy place to find a required item.

How to find the Lightscale Trident

After you defeat Divine Beast Vah Ruta, return to King Dorephan in Zora’s Domain. When he’s done talking, you’ll find a chest with a Lightscale Trident inside.

This weapon can break, but, unlike other weapons, you can repair and reforge this weapon. Just speak to Dento in the Zora’s Domain shop.

Repairing and reforging the Lightscale Trident

When you inevitably break your Lightscale Trident, speak to Dento. If you provide him with a Zora Spear, a diamond and five pieces of flint, he'll forge the Lightscale Trident anew.

So where do I find a Zora spear?

Not too far away from Zora’s Domain, there is a Zora spear that is easy to get to and will respawn with every Blood Moon. To the southwest of the city, look for an upside-down U in the road — it’s between the Bank of Wishes and Ralis Pond. Right in the middle of the U, there is lizalfos guarding a weapons rack. Handle the Lizalfos, then pick up the spear. Now you can head back to Dento to reforge your Lightscale Trident.
