Do Sharpies fade over time?
It is permanent and fade resistant to the sun & UV rays, wet and dry weather too. Whatever your needs are for a Sharpie, it is quick drying as well. It works great on plastic, glass, wood, and outdoor surfaces plus clothing, furniture, sports equipment or whatever needs to be marked permanently.
But it may be that when your Sharpie “dies,” it'a not really gone for good. When a Sharpie dries out, it's rare that the ink in the marker is actually gone. More often than not, the tip of the marker is simply dried out. This may stop the ink from coming out, but it doesn't mean there isn't ink in the marker!

Alcohol evaporates at a lower temperature than water. And because of this, if you use your sharpie often or do not cap it back after using, the alcohol at the tip of sharpie will evaporate quickly leading to the sharpie drying out.

Simply pour a bit of alcohol into a small container or the pen cap and soak the tip of the Sharpie in the liquid. Leave the pen in the alcohol for at least 30 seconds. This should dissolve enough ink to get it flowing again.

If the pen is frozen because it has been exposed to very cold temperatures, this will not harm the pen. Our pens can be stored at -20°C. After thawing, the marker works again.

In this system, the seal of the cap is the only line of defense between the ink inside the barrel and the outside air. Storing markers like this on their side is crucial to prolonging the life of the product even with the cap on.
First, boil some water in a pot and then let it cool down for a bit. Then dip the tip of your sharpie into the water for about 5-7 minutes at least. After that, take out the marker from the water and remove any extra water using a paper towel or clean cloth.

Take a flat iron and set it on high. Carefully iron the paper using a gradual back and forth motion for around five minutes. Turn the shirt inside out again and repeat the process on the outside of the shirt. You can also use a bit of clear fabric paint to set the design permanently on the shirt.
