Is Apple a good stock to buy?
Apple remains the world's biggest publicly traded outfit for a reason. The bulk of that reason is the fact that it also remains the world's most profitable company, reporting net income of nearly $94 billion for its fiscal year ended in September.
Overall AAPL ranks 3rd on our list of the best forever stocks to buy right now.
Any long-term prediction of the Apple stock price over 10 years is always going to be highly speculative, but according to Tradersunion.com, the price of the stock by January 2035 could be $772.40. Moving back to within a range of five years, CoinCodex projects a maximum price of $400.83 per share in January 2030.
She believes that Apple's stock price in 2025 will likely range between $250 and $260, but noted that the prediction is subject to change depending on market conditions, global economic factors and how Apple executes its strategies in the coming year.
Stock Split
Apple has a history of splitting its stock — since it went public in 1980, Apple has split its stock five times. It has never had a share value of over $200, so $1,000 per share would be a stretch. A stock split is not necessarily a bad thing.
Assuming that gain continues in the years after that forecast period, coupled with the possibility of the P/E ratio contracting to 30 (still a premium to the market), the stock price is expected to increase just 34% between now and the start of 2030.

The Numbers on Apple Stock
Those gains translate to a 32.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for Apple compared to an 8.3% CAGR for the S&P 500 in that time. That means that $10,000 in AAPL stock purchased 20 years ago would be worth more than $2.71 million today, assuming reinvested dividends.
Thanks to the combination of capital appreciation for the stock and cash returned directly to shareholders through dividend payments, Apple has delivered a total return of 885% over the last decade. That means that a $1,000 investment in the tech giant in late 2014 would now be worth almost $10,000.
Despite this, Apple remains a compelling long-term investment, and current investors should consider holding. The company will continue to reward shareholders through rising dividends and share repurchases, and if its AI strategy delivers, it could pave the way for a transformative new growth phase.
Should you sell Apple stock?
Despite the near-term outlook not being that good with AAPL stock for now, I still think there's good reason to hold on. Growth is expected to pick up this year and accelerate more next year. Analysts expect 8.85% EPS growth for all of fiscal 2025 and 12.25% EPS growth for fiscal 2026.
Forecasters predict that Amazon will reach $200 per share a year from now and will continue to rise to $250 per share at the end of 2026. In 2027, the prediction is for a price of $300, and $250 by the end of 2028. Much of Amazon's future success, like that of many tech companies, will depend on the trajectory of AI.

Apple probably won't split its stock in 2024. The stock price today is about half what it was when the company announced its last split, a four-for-one exchange, in 2020.
The all-time high Apple stock closing price was 259.02 on December 26, 2024. The Apple 52-week high stock price is 260.10, which is 6.3% above the current share price. The Apple 52-week low stock price is 164.07, which is 32.9% below the current share price.
