Construction of the house stopped in 2008. In 2010 the property was listed for sale at $25,000,000 and sat idle for a few more years until being purchased by a Toronto company. For three years the company failed to pay the taxes on the property and the town of Haileybury put the property up for sale.
The mills have since been sold and all remaining assets are up for sale… including this house. They were forced to abandon construction on the mansion in 2008 so it hasn't been completed yet, leaving a partly finished relic. At the very least, the property will require $1 million in upgrades to make the house liveable.
Now inhabited solely by security cameras dotted around the grounds and the main building, the infamous Peter Grant Mansion still remains untouched to this day. As you can see from this room, the property is in an uninhabitable condition.
