Why is Ursula a good person?
Much like Ursula enables a desperate Ariel's assimilation into a different patriarchal society, she transforms these non-ideal bodies into bodies that conform to the ideal. Ursula believes there is no escape for most people: You adapt to the standards of the world; you don't try to challenge them.
flamboyantly and maliciously devious. Ursula makes deals where it's nearly impossible for the other party to keep up their end of the bargain, and she isn't above cheating to win. In fact, she seems to revel in manipulating other people.
Voiced by American actress Pat Carroll, Ursula is a villainous sea witch who offers a mermaid princess named Ariel a temporary opportunity to become human so that she may earn the love of Prince Eric within three days.
She does have Scar-like motives: Ursula wants to rule the kingdom. But she handles her problems in a way that's much more decent than flat-out organizing a stampede to try and kill the king's offspring.
Most of them are portrayed as psychotic, a woman slighted, but only Ursula among them actually legitimizes the power she wields over King Triton's subjects.
Ursula is a morbidly obese octopod, classified as a cecaelia (half human, half octopus). She has light lavender skin, short white hair, and her body, from the waist down, is black with six tentacles dotted by violet suckers.
She's also consistently shown to be an extremely skilled manipulator, a fantastic liar and a very powerful witch – and also an incredible singer. Can you describe her in one short sentence without mentioning her love life, her physical appearance, or the words 'strong female character'?
Ursula's plan was not only to trick Ariel so she could own her but also to get rid of her so she could replace King Triton and thus rule over the oceans.
Ursula is very manipulative and has a talent of making great sense and making great points when trying to strike a deal. She treats the eels like children and refer to them as “babies” or “poopsies.” Despite using contracts to get her way, Ursula has little regard for following her end of the bargain.
This decision is partly a result of her unyielding fear of incest. Even though Rebeca and José Arcadio are not technically related, Úrsula is terrified that even a remotely incestuous action or relation will result in someone in the family having a baby with the tail of a pig.
Why is Ursula black?
what makes Ursula black? She was based of Divine, who is white She was voiced by a white woman When she takes human form she's white," yet another well-versed Little Mermaid fan noted. "She was originally meant to be King Tryton's sister, and [he's] white."
Disney's Moana directors, John Musker and Ron Clements, have revealed that everyone's favourite sea witch is actually based on the very iconic drag queen, Divine.
Ursula is big, stylish, and cool. She stands as the first notable female Disney character that is plus size while also being shown as beautiful. The way she dances, her confidence, and her self-care and comfort in her own body is something pop culture often dodges when it comes to plus size women.
In short, Ursula represents feminism, the fluidity of gender, and young Ariel's empowerment. Ariel can be anything she wants, yet she chooses the role of young bride and human conformity.

When Ariel comes "too close" to succeeding in her task, Ursula decides "to take matters into her own tentacles" and takes the form of a very beautiful human female with Ariel's voice in order to sabotage her relationship with Eric. Ursula adopts the name of "Vanessa".
