The night they entered Capernaum, it was Shabbat. Jesus told James and Thaddeus they would be accepted if they went to the home of Mary of Magdala to have dinner, because He had healed her a few days ago. As expected Mary let them in, and Jesus joined them a few minutes later. At the dinner, Mary decided to follow Jesus.

Catch of the Fish[]

Jesus teaches in a few places. While teaching on the shore of Capernaum, Jesus meets some fishermen. Once the crowd leaves, Jesus has the fishermen cast their nets and then many finish appear out of nowhere. Jesus called four of the five fishermen to follow him, the fishermen were Simon, Andrew, James, and John. The next day, James gets the nickname "James the Less" to distinguish him from the other James in the group, "James the Great", he finds the name humorous.

Wedding at Cana[]

The next day, the party goes to Cana to celebrate the wedding of Jesus' childhood friend. On the way, James told the others (minus Thaddeus) about his former plans to sing. At the wedding, James met Jesus's mother, Mary. That night, the servants ran out of wine and Jesus miraculously turned water to wine.

The Home of Zebedee's[]

After the wedding, the group travelled back to Capernaum, and on the way Jesus healed a leper. When they got to Capernaum, they all visited the home of Big James and John's parents, Zebedee and Salome. Jesus began to preach and James witnessed Jesus heal a paralytic. At the end of the sermon, a Pharisee named Shmuel called for Jesus' arrest, but the group was able to slip away.

A Pharisee and a Tax Collector[]

The day after the healing of the paralytic, Jesus spoke with a Pharisee named Nicodemus while James, Thaddeus, and Mary stayed at their camp on the outskirts of town. The next day, Jesus called Matthew, one of the tax collectors in Capernaum, to follow Him. James is upset, but he hears Jesus tell Simon to get used to different.

In Sychar[]

The group travels to a village in Samaria called Sychar. While the disciples went to town for food, Jesus announces to a Samaritan Woman named Photina that He is the Christ. James spends most of the two days watching Jesus teach. Jesus sends the disciples to shop for supplies and James is in charge of buying two legs of lamb including the knuckle and fillet. With Jesus and the other students, James has dinner with a Samaritan family, and James is present on listening Jesus read the first scroll of Moses at the synagogue.

A few days later, in the outskirts of Jericho, Jesus goes to meet with John the Baptizer while James, Big James, John, Thaddeus, and Nathanael go to gather supplies for a new tent. When they return to camp, they find a demoniac terrorizing some of the others and a Zealot fighting the demoniac off. Jesus heals the man and calls Simon the Zealot (nicknamed as Zee), to follow Him. That night, James meets Zee while Simon and Matthew are sent to look for Mary whom left the camp.

On Shabbat, Philip arrives back to camp and tells everyone that John the Baptizer was arrested and sentenced to life in prison. Jesus takes the party to a synagogue in Wadi Kelt, where Jesus heals a Elam, a man with a withered hand. Leaving the synagogue, Jesus permits his hungry party to pick grains, upsetting the Pharisees. Then Jesus claims to be the Son of Man and the Lord of the Sabbath.

"I'll Be Back"[]

Jesus tells the disciples of a Sermon He is planning that will define His ministry. While Jesus tells them about the Sermon, a squadron of Roman Soldiers come to detain Jesus for questioning. Once the Romans leave with Jesus, the party discusses what to do next. A few of the students argue that they might be able to use Zee's skills to break Jesus out; the idea is quickly tarnished by the others. They wait a full day for Jesus to return and when He comes back, they ask Him to teach them how to pray like Him.

Sermon on the Mount[]

Jesus sends out James, Thaddeus, and Nathanael to look for a spot to set up the sermon. They find a plot of land overlooking the Sea of Galilee, but the landowner doesn't like them. They take him to a public house, but the trio fails at convincing the man. Then two men standing at the bar help them for no reason. Before the group can thank the two men, the two men leave. Little James gets the others while Thaddeus helps Nathanael build a stage for Jesus. The party arrive first thing in the morning and a giant crowd is right behind them. James helps organize the crowd of nearly four thousand people. Before the Sermon starts, James' friends from Capernaum, Barnaby and Shula, stop by.

Around fourteen years after Jesus' resurrection, Big James is killed with the sword by King Herod Agrippa. James and the other disciples travelled to Jerusalem to sit Shiva to mourn Big James. John takes this time to interview everyone who was there during Jesus' ministry.
