I'm sad.

I really liked the story and where it was going. I read half the book in one sitting. However, it started getting pretty inappropriate. I'm 14 and wouldn't read this till 15. As much as I didnt want to, I had to stop reading it because of the language and kissing scenes were a bit much for me. I'll be really excited to restart the book in a year or two.

Amazing Story, Cute Plot, Best Book I’ve Read.

At first I was really taken aback by the reviews, but after reading 20 pages, I was IN LOVE with “The Sun is Also a Star” I highly recommend to anyone who can handle swearing and kissing. Most teenagers (13+) are expected by their peers to swear, and just helps with seeing into the character’s minds’ and personalities. If you can’t handle swearing, don’t read it until about 15/16, just my recommendation.

Not a good book…

I loved Everything, Everything but I hated this book. I had a good story line but the ending for me was not worth reading the whole book for. The whole book took place in 1 day and it just wasn’t good. No sex just kissing that isn’t even described that bad. Don’t bother reading this though. It’s was waste of time.

A so-called romance that is romantic and a non-romance—for anyone!

12 year olds can read this and enjoy it. Book is not too sexual, it is simply a happy friendship. The one-day time period makes this intense and I could read it in one sitting. Such a thoughtful, philosophical novel that you can tie to your own life. A must read!

i couldn’t even finish it ! do not read if your under 15 !!

i was really looking forward to this book but sadly it was very inappropriate… this book has a great storyline (if you cut out the fact that they cuss every other sentence and make out continuously) i thought i could ignore some things and read the book but in the end i couldn’t even finish it due to the language. do not recommend for people under 15 !!

it was a cute read but a little cringy

the book it definitely appropriate for tweens/teens. it was fine but a bit of a chore to read. characters were a bit pick-me and thought they were quirky because they liked science/ poems. read if you want i wouldn't heavily recommend.

10/10 reccomend

I would fully recommend this book to anyone 13 or older who can handle swearing. It's beautiful, and portrays life in it's full beauty. It has language, definitely, and if you/your child can't handle a realistic amount of swearing that teenagers use, or heavy kissing, watch the movie (it's a little less mature) or wait a year or two, but it shouldn't be anything you can't handle. There are great role models in Daniel and Natasha, and great messages of teamwork and going through the world together. The whole book, minus the epilogue, is the span of a day and is placed in the upper east. Natasha is about to get deported because of her dad's DUI after a night of fame, and as she's walking around town, a string of coincidences (or fate) brings Daniel to her. They spend the rest of the day together, and it tells the stories of other characters they meet. There's great representation, and general portrayal of life. Although they're both good people and role models, there is some of the teenage dating aspect, and they almost have sex, but don't. If you can handle things that a lot of teens can, it's nothing much. All in all, I'd recommend it if you can handle themes, but if you are taken aback by swearing and some genitalia references, just wait a few years.

Wasn’t a huge fan. It all happened too quickly for my liking. Had this book taken place over a week, more could’ve happened with the character’s development. I found the story to be quite predictable too. Many love this book and that’s great, but I’ve never found the love for it that most have.

The sun is also a star: book review

I think this book is for kids 12 and up who can handle romantic scenes, but I really enjoyed reading this book and I advise others to read it too.
