Make informed viewing choices for you and your family with maturity ratings for TV shows and movies on Netflix.

• Maturity ratings are either set by Netflix or by a local standards organization.

• Netflix sets maturity ratings by the frequency and impact of mature content in a title, such as the amount of violence, sex, adult language, nudity, or substance use that may be present.

• Netflix also provides details on the mature content found within a TV show or movie, if applicable.

• Maturity ratings and advisories found on a TV show’s details page reflect the overall or highest maturity level of the series.

  Note:

  For TV shows with more than one season, we show the ratings for the season you're watching in the top corner of the screen when first playing the title. These may differ from the show’s overall rating or mature content themes.

• TV and movie ratings may vary by region.

You can find a title’s maturity rating:

• When first playing a title, the rating will appear briefly in the top corner of your screen.

• On a TV show or movie’s details page. The location of this information may vary by device.

In addition to the rating, you’ll also find details about the content of the title that determined the rating (for example: sex, language, violence, nudity).

To set a maturity rating level for a profile:

Android phone or tablet, iPhone, or iPad

1. Open the Netflix app.

2. In the lower right, tapMy Netflix .

3. In the upper right, tap theMenu.

4. TapManage Profiles.

5. Choose the profile you want to edit.

6. TapViewing Restrictions .

7. Tap Maturity Rating .

8. Enter your Netflix account password.

9. Set the maturity rating level you'd like.

Web browser

1. Using a browser, go to yourAccountpage.

2. In theProfile & Parental Controlssection, choose the profile you want to edit.

   • For some accounts, select Profiles, then choose a profile.

3. SelectViewing restrictions.

4. Enter your Netflix account password.

5. Set the maturity rating level you'd like.

6. Choose Save.

Profiles with a set maturity level will only show titles that fit the selected maturity rating level. You can also block specific shows and movies from individual profiles.
