The Hallmark Channel has been around since August 2001 while its sister network Hallmark Movies and Mysteries launched in January 2004. Between those two channels, there have been a plethora of family-friendly movies and murder mysteries made under the Crown Media banner.

To count up ALL of the Hallmark movies is nearly an insurmountable task; and pinpointing the King and Queen of Hallmark is nearly as difficult, especially when you compare how many appearances the cavalcade of actors the networks uses for their movies AND weekly TV shows (past and present).

That being said, I set out to attempt to determine the King and Queen of Hallmark: the actor and the actress who have appeared the most on the two networks.

If you look at only the telefilms that have aired between the two TV channels, it might surprise long-time devotees to learn that actor Steve Bacic has appeared in the most Hallmark movies. That top rank is thanks in great part to his role in the Garage Sale Mysteries that are now defunct because of the Lori Loughlin college admission scandal.

However, an argument could be made that Cameron Mathison is the King of Hallmark because he has been the co-host of the network’s morning talk show Home & Family since 2018 and has also appeared in 15 movies between the two networks.

The top spot could also be held by actor Jack Wagner, who has appeared in 58 episodes of When Calls the Heart as well as 6 movies for the Hallmark Channel. The title could also go to James Denton, who has starred in 55 episodes of Good Witch and appeared in 2 Hallmark movies. Or, the honor could go to Brennan Elliott, who appeared in 31 episodes of the canceled Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove as well as starring in 16 movies between the two networks, with at least 3 more movies [if not more} set to air in 2020.

As for the Queen of Hallmark Channel, the network would probably answer Candace Cameron Bure, but the actress does have some steep competition.

If you look at appearances in both TV shows and movies, Erin Krakow would take the crown having appeared in over 60 episodes of When Calls the Heart as well as 7 movies between the two networks. Coming in a very close second would be Catherine Bell, who has appeared in over 50 episodes of Good Witch – as well as 7 movies from that franchise that aired before it was made into a weekly series – as well at least 3 other movies for which she has appeared in on both networks.

Should you look at the top actresses who have appeared in the most movies between the two networks, it’s nearly a draw between the aforementioned Bure, who has appeared in 22 movies with at least one (if not more) movies coming in 2020 and Lacey Chabert, who has also appeared in 22 movies with at least three (if not more) movies set to air throughout this year.

Needless to say given the long list of leading ladies and Hallmark hunks, crowning the King and Queen of Hallmark isn’t an easy feat.
