When you first dive into Lanayru Desert, select the North Desert Bird Statue. That way, you will be near the spot to start the Silent Realm. Use your Dowsing ability to spot the glow area nearby (with the Goddess Butterflies flying around it). Once there, pull out your harp and strum it in sync with the ring in order for the Silent Realm marker to appear. Go to the marker and thrust your sword into the ground to begin the Silent Realm.
This Silent Realm collection spree is much like the last one. There are 15 Tears to collect and 7Dusk Reliclocations. You can replay this level and the Dusk Relics will move around, but respawn in the locations below.

In this Silent Realm you still need to avoid the quicksand. It's best to leave some easy Tears on the central platform so you can run for them if you need them.
Remember that your map is still useful to show the locations of submerged walls. Here are some tricky Tears:
- In the south area, a Tear on a cage requires you to move a mine cart.
- Another Tear is floating in the air in the south. Move a mine cart under it when the water recedes.
- One Tear is in a tree in the far south. Roll into the tree to bring it down.
- One Tear is in the desert sands to the north. Use the map to find the footing to get to it.
- One Tear in the north is on a wall guarded by enemies with lights. Avoid the first one by standing to the side while it passes. You can alarm the next one since you are right next to the Tear and you can grab it to shut it up.
For completing the Silent Realm you will get an amazing reward: the Clawshots!
You can use the Clawshots to latch onto any target OR vines. Try it out right here in the desert to completely avoid the quicksand. There are several Chests, Goddess Cubes and Heart Pieces you can now reach.

Now that you have the Clawshots you can get some great stuff in the area and beyond.
- Open the Chest on the platform near the Silent Realm entrance. Inside is a Dusk Relic.
- Get Heart Piece 19
- Get two Lanayru Desert Goddess Cubes, 22and 23(Heart Medal and Life Medal)
- Open Goddess Cube Chest 8 (Skyloft, Gold Rupee)
- Get the Goddess Cubes in Faron Woods and Deep Woods, 5 and 6 (Heart Piece and Rupee Medal).
Head to the West Desert Bird Statue. A question mark marks the sand waterfall in the southwest of Lanayru Desert. You can now use the Clawshots to reach a cave entrance in the waterfall.
Lanayru Caves
In the tiny Lanayru Caves area, approach Golo, a Goron chipping away at a wall in the south. Golo will give you a Small Key that allows you to enter the Sand Sea to the west.
Before leaving the cave, open the nearby Chest for a Monster Horn. Use theeastern exit from the cave to reach the initial Lanayru Mine area. Using theClawshots, you can pick up another TreasureChest with an Evil Crystal within.
Head back to the Lanayru Caves and use Small Key on the western door to enter the Sand Sea region.
