Welcome to IGN's Walkthrough for the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This page contains information on Lake Floria, including meeting Faronthe Water Dragon, and obtaining the Sacred Water by traveling through Skyview Temple.

Video Guide - Meeting Faron the Water Dragon

The entrance to Lake Floria is at the far southern end of Faron Woods. To open it you need to raise a Skyward Strike in front of it and then draw a circle where one is missing. This complete design can be found by the Viewing Platform on the ground in the far north if you need a reference.

You can collect a Red Rupee before diving into the lake far below.

Let the current drag you into the caves of Lake Floria. Here you will meet a red Parella who at first flees from you, but then helps you out. As you pursue it, it will retreat behind some boards. You can easily break these with a spin attack (shake the nunchuk). The Parella will then lead you through the tunnels.

The next area is filled with Froaks. These explosive amphibians can be used to clear the many rock walls in the area for Rupees, including two Red Rupees behind the northwest rock wall and a Silver Rupee under the cracked rock in the very center of the area. To aim your attacks at the Froaks more easily, lock onto them.

As long as you are locked on and the Froak is between you and the cracked object, it will spin into it and blow up.

Save at the Bird Statue. The most important wall to break is in the northwest. This will allow you to continue.

Soon you'll have to use a spin attack to clear a gate. Aim up at the gate from below, spin and you can jump right over it like a hurdle.

The next chamber has a Chest with a Goddess Plume inside. You'll have to surface and look for it on the dry ground.

Lake Floria Goddess Cube

In a chamber under Lake Floria you can find a Goddess Cube on a strip of dry land. It's in a chamber with a Bird Statue and a chest with a Goddess Plume inside. You need the Clawshots to get to the chest on the east side of Skyloft.

Jump over another gate and you'll find a giant enemy fish in your path. This is very easy to kill. Use a spin attack on it to stun it, then lock on and spin right for its giant forehead to take it out.

On the ledges above this pool you can score a Pink Fairy in the skulls.

The door on the north side of this room can only be opened by your Parella friend. The Water Dragon is on the other side.

Talk to the Water Dragon, Faron and she'll demand a bottle of Sacred Water. You can now use your Dowsing ability to find the Sacred Water, which is in the Skyview Temple, of all places.

A Chest on one side of this chamber contains anEvil Crystaland another Chest contains a Silver Rupee, so don't miss those.

Use the door to leave the submarine caves and save at the Bird Statue. If you stand at the Bird Statue and send your Beetle up high and to the west you can use it to collect a Gold Rupee! You may notice the Goddess Cube here, but you cannot reach it until you get the Clawshots.

Finally, a Gossip Stone can be raised here for a clue about a Goddess Wall and a Monster Claw.

Video Guide: Skyview Temple Part 1

When you take the path leading back to Faron Woods you can create a shortcut back to the lake by pushing the log off of the ledge.

You must now return to Skyview Temple. You can enter the Sky via a Bird Statue and then land back down at the Temple. You need an Empty Bottle for this next area, so be sure to have one around (or one you can empty in a bit).

Enter Skyview Temple and head down the stairs until you come to a clump of Blessed Butterflys. You can play the Goddess's Harp here to make a Goddess Wall appear.

Your Mogma mate Ledd will also appear here. He's exploring the area for Treasure. As you make your way to the flooded chamber, you'll discover a newly locked door.

To find the Small Key, take the northeastern door and jump into the flooded eastern room. Swim to the bottom and through the small tunnel. On the other side, climb the vines to find the dig spot with the Small Key in it.

Beware of the Green Bokoblins with arrows. You can block their arrows but if you don't time it right your shield's strength can be sapped quickly. It's best to be aggressive: Just run at them and knock them into the water.

Video Guide: Skyview Temple Part 2

A Staldra now patrols the room just beyong the locked doors. You can kill these easily with a Bomb. Take the northern door.

Two Bokoblins with bows and arrows are guarding the tight rope. Hiding behind a mushroom will block the arrows, but you are still free to utilize your Hook Beetle. Note that a Bomb Plant has grown above the area, so you can use the Hook Beetle to carry a bomb right into their ugly faces.

Save at the Bird Statue. In the boss room are three Stalfos. You can use the same tactics from before (timed blocking and using the Wiimotion to place your slice where their swords aren't) to eliminate them, but note that bombs will also make them shed their limbs.

After killing the Stalfos you can enter the spring behind the boss room and Dowse for the Sacred Water. The Pink Fairy horde gives away the waterfall with the Sacred Water. Stand here and use your Empty Bottle to snatch some water up.

You will be returned to the temple entrance after getting the Sacred Water. Fly into the sky and then land at the Floria Waterfall Bird Statue. Run through the door to return to the Water Dragon's domain.

Approach the Dragon and she will open the door to the Ancient Cistern (Dungeon 4) in a cutscene. It's behind Floria Waterfall. Save at the Bird Statue and, if you are well equipped for a dungeon, head in.
