Typically, apparel such as T-shirts, golf shirts, and sweatshirts and pants come to mind when one thinks of heat pressing. But with the ever-evolving heat press industry, items like caps, nylon jackets and bags, canvas bags, spandex and neoprene garments, and even leather items can be customized using heat applied materials.

    For heat pressing over seams, we recommend using a heat printing pillow inside the shirt. When you press the shirt, the seam will sink into the pillow, providing even pressure across the garment.

    We’re not aware of any current methods for heat applying decorations on swim caps. However, there are screen printing inks that are designed to adhere to silicone.

    Your tips, classes, and overall marketing are extremely appreciated and impressive! I’m wondering if you can use heat transfer vinyl on bookcloth scrapbooks to personalize?

    Thank you! According to our heat printing experts, heat transfer vinyl can be used on most fabric scrapbooks, but they recommend applying with a lower temperature (and longer dwell time) or using a hand iron, to avoid damaging the cloth.

  11. Looking to apply team logo to the lenses of sunglasses. The above list includes sunglasses. Can someone suggest HOW this is done. I have a heat press and pressing pillows for apparel, but have not tried any surfaces that aren’t already flat.

  13. Any suggestions on what HTV to use on a golf bag? There does not seem to be any tags for fabric content. Not sure if need a special type or just any basic HTV. Thanks!!!

What fabrics can be heat pressed? ›

You can use iron-on vinyl on fabrics like cotton, polyester, or cotton and polyester blends. You cannot use a heat press on synthetic fibers like acrylic because they might melt under the heat.
